Dolphin Marina & Restaurant: New floats, slips, wharf and boaters lounge as well as a new restaurant

Located on the water’s edge of picturesque Potts Harbor at the tip of Harpswell, Maine, the Dolphin Marina & Restaurant has been a favorite destination for boaters and inlanders since it opened in 1966.   Originally started by Malcolm and Jean Saxton, who made the restaurant famous with their homemade food, featuring secret recipes for fish chowder, lobster stew and blueberry muffins, continue to feature Maine lobsters, local fresh seafood and hand cut steaks.  The marina has steadily grown as its operation passed to their son, Bill, and his wife Mimi, and now, grandsons, Billy, Jr., and Chris.

Presently, the two grandsons as stewards of this Maine jewel are in the process of a major refit of their facility, with all new marina infrastructures, including new floats, slips, wharf and boaters lounge as well as a new restaurant.

Dolphin Marina is a premier destination for transient and seasonal boaters up to 250 feet with brand new facilities that offer all the amenities transients have asked for over the years:  ice, water, provisions, showers, restrooms, laundry, boaters’ lounge, weather center, chandlery, comfortable deck and patio, slips and moorings, complete dock service, WiFi and 30A, 50A and 100A shore power.  The Marina also provides crane and repair services, indoor and outside boat storage, winterization, shrink wrap, boat transport and three hydraulic trailers for boat hauling.

The picturesque 7-acre property at Potts Point features green space to stretch your legs with a walk and view one of Maine’s famous lighthouses, Halfway Rock.  Make arrangements to take a boat ride to Eagle Island State Park, rent a kayak or boat to explore the Casco Bay coastline, or charter a boat for any activity you have planned.  During your visit, make sure to stop by the gift shop, chandlery and lounge to capture the spirit of Maine and purchase souvenirs.

Guests can use the private dining room for weddings, birthdays and lobsterbakes can be scheduled on the tip of the point or at the boathouse.  Dolphin also offers a courtesy car for exploring the area and visit nearby Bowdoin College in Brunswick, location of Maine State Music Theater and Bowdoin International Music Festival.  If air travel is necessary, Portland International Jetport can be reached in less than an hour.  To experience a true tradition of the Maine Coast, visit Dolphin Marina & Restaurant and capture the taste of Maine.
