Raitt Farm celebrates 20th Eliot Antique Tractor & Engine Show July 24th - 26th

Tractors, Engines, Farm Displays and more will roll into the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum for the 20th Annual Eliot Antique Tractor and Engine Show July 24th - 26th 2015. The show kicks off Friday at 8am and ends with a pasta dinner and auction in the evening. Saturday brings crowd favorites like the tractor parade, tractor pulling, and live music and entertainment - including the ladies skillet toss at 9am in the morning. Among the events scheduled will be tractor displays, engine displays, tractor pulls, agricultural machinery demonstrations such as early 1900’s Shingle Mill, Woodsplitter and many more demonstrations. The popular antique tractor parade starts at 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Children’s activities, crafters, and yummy food round out the family friendly event.

“ Twenty years ago we started out holding an event with the hopes that the agricultural community would come out and support it. Well, they did and they come from all over the country to set up exhibits to showcase agriculture and farming history,” states Tom Raitt, president of the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum. “ What started out as a yearly show has become the foundation and mission of our organization. We now own the 33 acre property so we can continue to preserve the land, buildings, and farm exhibits for future generations to enjoy. All of the proceeds raised at the event go towards restoring the existing buildings and maintenance of the property.”

“Looking back at all the pictures and videos from the past 20 years has been interesting to say the least”, according to Lisa Raitt, trustee and event coordinator for the RHFM. “We have had unique and rare exhibits at the show over the years. And we have met some of the most interesting people along the way and been blessed to have wonderful volunteers help us throughout the years. There are no words to describe how incredible this adventure has been and we have done it as a 100% all volunteer organization.”

“On that note we are always looking for volunteers to help at the event. Right now we still need at least 20 more to help especially on Friday and Saturday, so if you are reading this and have a few hours free to lend a hand, please shoot us an email at info@raittfarmmuseum.org or message on Facebook and volunteer. It’s definitely a fun time for everyone.” Each night a slideshow with pictures from the last 20 years will be shown. It’s an opportunity to see lots of exhibits from the past and share memories of all the years of the 20th Eliot Antique Tractor & Engine Show.

Please visit the website www.raittfarmmuseum.org for a complete schedule of times and events. Admission is $6 adults; 12 and under free. Free parking.
